Privacy policy

Information used by the service

We process account identifiers and authorised profile information through Clerk, your adult declaration, language and time zone; creative works, versions, prompts, Agent conversations, uploaded references and generated media; order references, payment status, credit lots, reservations and consumption records; and connection information needed to deliver and secure the service. Avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information.

Why information is processed

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, processing necessary to supply requested services relies on performing the service agreement. Applicable legal obligations may require financial records and responses to lawful requests. Security processing may rely on legitimate interests, subject to the rights and balancing requirements of applicable law. Optional processing that requires consent must be separately authorized.

Providers, AI processing and sharing

Content and the context required for a selected AI task are sent to the configured inference provider, including AIHubmix where used. BYOK credentials are stored encrypted on the server and used to authenticate your requested provider calls. They are not included in prompts or public exports. Share only material you are authorised to process.

Clerk handles authentication; Waffo Pancake handles checkout, payment and associated tax records. Railway hosts application and database services; Cloudflare provides delivery and security, including configured media storage. Configured AI providers process task inputs. Restricted product analytics may use PostHog with internal identifiers, route patterns and interaction metadata; prompts, work text, API keys and payment details are excluded from those analytics events. Hushed Studio does not collect full card numbers or card security codes.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can contact us for information about the AI and infrastructure providers handling your data. Third-party services’ own notices also explain their processing practices.

Cookies and browser storage

Authentication cookies maintain your session. Browser storage keeps drafts, preferences and cached data; signing out does not necessarily erase it. Export important work before clearing local storage. Clearing local data does not delete cloud works, billing records or your account.

Browser extension (Hushed Studio Companion)

The Hushed Studio Companion browser extension imports characters from supported character platforms (SpicyChat, Talkie, Hi waifu, Joyland and Tipsy) into your Hushed Studio account and fills those platforms’ create or edit forms with your Studio work. It runs only on those platforms and on hushed.studio, and handles the following information.

• Website content. Only when you choose a character to import, the extension reads that character’s text fields (such as name, greeting, personality, scenario, example dialogue and tags) and its avatar from the platform page or editor, and saves them to your own Hushed Studio account. Avatars are downloaded over HTTPS only from the platforms’ official image servers, without the site’s cookies. When you export, the extension fills the platform’s form with your Studio data. It never presses the site’s final Save, Create or Publish button.
• Authentication information. The extension receives your Hushed Studio sign-in credential from the Hushed Studio website and keeps it only in the browser’s session storage, solely to call the Hushed Studio API. It is cleared when you sign out or when the browser session ends. The extension never asks for or reads your platform passwords.
• User activity. Only after you start an export, and only on that platform tab, the extension observes the response to the platform’s own save or publish request to confirm whether publication succeeded, and records the result (platform, character ID and URL) in your Studio account. No other requests are recorded.
• Local storage. The extension’s local browser storage holds only your interface language and the position of its floating launcher.
• The extension does not collect your browsing history. Information it handles is not sold, not used for advertising and not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending. It is not shared with third parties other than the service providers described in this policy that operate Hushed Studio.
• To stop the extension and remove its data, sign out, uninstall the extension and delete imported characters in Hushed Studio. To delete cloud data or your account, email support@hushed.chat and mention Hushed Studio.

How long information is kept

Saved works, uploads and versions are retained while needed to provide the workspace. Security and support records are kept for their stated purposes; financial records may be retained for tax, accounting and disputes. Data is deleted or anonymised when no longer needed, subject to legal obligations and restricted backup cycles.

Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, restriction of processing or object to certain uses. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

To request access, correction, export, deletion of cloud data or account closure, email support@hushed.chat from your registered email and identify Hushed Studio. We may verify your identity. We respond within applicable legal time limits. Exporting a work or clearing device storage does not delete your cloud account. Legal retention of billing records and outstanding refund rights remain applicable.

Keeping information secure

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information and limit access to the purposes described here. We will assess security incidents and notify affected people and authorities where required by applicable law. Report suspected issues to support@hushed.chat.

International processing

Hushed Chat operates from China and serves users outside mainland China. Your information may be processed in China and in other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws from your country of residence.

Where a transfer is subject to legal restrictions, we will use the safeguards required for that transfer, such as approved contractual protections or another permitted legal mechanism. Contact support@hushed.chat for details of destinations and safeguards applicable to your information.

Adults only

Hushed is intended for adults aged 18 and older. People under 18 must not create an account or submit personal information. Suspected underage use should be reported to support@hushed.chat . If we learn that a person under 18 has provided personal information, we will take steps to remove it and restrict the account as appropriate.

Updates and contact

Policy changes will be reflected in the date above. Material changes require an appropriate service notice and, where legally necessary, additional consent. External websites and providers have their own privacy notices.
